Nicola Adilman is a multidisciplinary artist focused on contemporary dance and filmmaking. She began dancing in Toronto, Canada. A 2017 graduate of The School of Toronto Dance Theatre, Adilman received The Kathryn Ash Leadership Award and Second Prize in the Winchester Prize for her choreography of “inanimated.” Nicola completed a 4 month international and UK tour with London based EDGE Dance Company out of London Contemporary Dance School (LCDS) performing in works by Jorge Crecis, Hagit Yakira, and Fabio Liberti, under the artistic direction of Jeanne Yasko. She was awarded her MA in Dance with Distinction from LCDS in 2020. Her dance films have been featured in festivals such as FORM Vancouver, Dance Made in Canada Festival and Branch Collective’s Dance OnScreen. Nicola participated in RBC EMERGING ARTIST ACTION LAB: Peggy Baker Dance Projects as an emerging choreographer (2021).
Recently, she has taught dance professionally in the UK and Canada, performed in freelance projects in the UK and aboard. She premiered her work Play by Play in 2023 and will soon be presenting another choreographic work in Resolutions (2024) at The Place in London, England.
Nicola also works as a life model for many different mediums. She poses for drawing, painting, photography and sculpture.
